Cocoa butter is a pure, light yellow edible vegetable butter pressed from raw cocoa beans preheated at a low temperature. It has a delightfully rich dark chocolate aroma and taste. Cocoa butter is a stable fatty substance containing natural antioxidants with a shelf life of over 3 years. It is one of the most stable and concentrated natural butters.

Cocoa butter is used in the manufacture of chocolate, cocoa powder, pharmaceuticals, lubricants and cosmetics.

Cocoa butter is nourishing and emollient and has been used in skin care for centuries. Traditionally, cocoa butter has been used to nourish, heal and moisturise the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of stretch marks during pregnancy while keeping the skin supple. It is an excellent additive to body lotions, lip balms, body creams, soaps and special stomach creams. Cocoa butter melts at body temperature and absorbs very well. It deeply moisturises and nourishes the skin, helps to retain moisture and creates a protective barrier between sensitive skin and the external environment. Cocoa butter is an effective stretch mark preventative. Its very high antioxidant content makes cocoa butter an extremely long-lasting natural product. Cocoa butter also contains vitamin E, which helps the skin fight ageing. Cocoa butter contains a high concentration of oleic acid (35%), an omega-9 fatty acid that has been linked to a reduction in heart disease and some forms of cancer, and to increased skin elasticity.
