The industrial and edible strain of hemp does not contain tetrahydrocannabinol, which has psychoactive effects, and its seeds and the oil pressed from them contain a number of compounds with health benefits. Hemp seeds contain 65% of easily assimilated proteins, which provide the body with all the amino acids it needs, including essential amino acids that the body does not produce. Hemp seeds are an excellent source of protein.

Consumption of hemp seeds or hemp oil can help with immunodeficiency diseases, which is why it has been used as a supportive treatment for tuberculosis, for example.
