Regular consumption of sprouts contributes to overall health and weight loss. Microgreens have a distinct salad flavour and a subtle nutty aftertaste. Freshly cut sprouts are used in salads, for making sandwiches, and added to fresh vegetables. Ready to harvest and eat 7–10 days after sowing.
Scientific studies have shown that sprouted sunflower seeds are much healthier than dried seeds.
Sprouted sunflower seeds regulate cholesterol metabolism in the body, which is particularly beneficial for those with high blood cholesterol levels. They also strengthen blood vessel walls, improve acid-base balance, have excellent preventive and therapeutic effects in cases of hypovitaminosis and vitamin deficiency, and regulate the functioning of the nervous system. Thanks to their high vitamin E content, sunflower seeds are very beneficial for the body’s reproductive functions.

Nutritional value of sunflower sprouts:
– a complex of vitamins (ascorbic acid, carotene, vitamins D, E, K and B: B1, B2, B3, B5, biotin, B6, folic acid)
– macro- and microelements (magnesium, potassium, iodine, selenium, phosphorus, fluorine, calcium, copper, manganese, cobalt, zinc, molybdenum)
– contains lecithin, unsaturated fatty acids (linoleic, palmitic, oleic acids).
Optimal sprout length: 0.5–1 cm.
Storage: in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Instructions: To prepare sprouts at home, follow these steps: take a flat plate and line it with muslin or another absorbent material. Sprinkle a single layer of seeds onto the muslin and moisten it with water, preferably boiled and lukewarm water. Add enough water to keep the muslin damp at all times. Place the seeds in a warm, preferably dark place. Depending on the species, sprouts will appear after 2–4 days. For large seeds, such as peas, soya beans, chickpeas, etc., or seeds with shells, such as pumpkin or sunflower seeds, we cut the sprouts before eating; for small seeds, however, we use them whole.
