Cinnamon, like ginger, has medicinal properties that are stimulating and warming. Traditionally it has been used for digestive disorders such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, but also to relieve muscle aches and other symptoms of flu-like viral illnesses. Because of its warming effect, cinnamon induces perspiration and can therefore also be used to reduce fever. Cinnamon is also used in cases of food poisoning, to rinse the mouth to treat gingivitis and bad breath.

Cinnamon combined with honey deters inflammation and extra pounds.

In folk medicine, honey mixed with cinnamon has long been used to treat sore throats and infections. However, few people are aware that cinnamon’s anti-inflammatory properties are also scientifically well established and it can be used to fight many bacteria, viruses and fungi. Pathogens that do not like cinnamon include yeast (candida), E. coli, H1N1 influenza, head lice, HIV, klebsiella (the cause of pneumonia and urinary tract infections) and staphylococcus.

Cinnamon is a much-loved spice and flavouring, widely used throughout the world for thousands of years, obtained from the dried inner bark of certain cinnamon tree species. The bark of four main cinnamon tree species is used as a spice, the best known of which are Ceylon cinnamon , a very good pale red colour with an aromatic and sweet flavour, and Cassia, a dark brown cinnamon with a stronger and more bitter smell and taste.

Cinnamon, like ginger, has stimulating and warming properties. Traditionally it has been used for digestive disorders such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, but also to relieve muscle aches and other symptoms of flu-like viral illnesses. Because of its warming effect, cinnamon induces perspiration and can therefore also be used to reduce fever. Cinnamon is also used in cases of mild food poisoning, to rinse the mouth for gingivitis and to treat bad breath.

Cinnamon combined with honey deters inflammation and excess pounds.

In folk medicine, honey mixed with cinnamon has long been used to treat sore throats and infections. However, few people are aware that cinnamon’s anti-inflammatory properties are also scientifically well established and it can be used to fight many bacteria, viruses and fungi. Some of the more well-known pathogens that are not fond of cinnamon include yeast (candida), E. coli, H1N1 influenza, head lice, HIV, klebsiella (the cause of pneumonia and urinary tract infections) and staphylococcus.

In addition, the honey and cinnamon blend helps to reduce excess body weight by helping to prevent the accumulation of fat in problem areas of the body. The honey and cinnamon blend helps to cleanse the digestive tract and get rid of harmful bacteria and parasites that affect digestion, as well as lowering blood sugar and cholesterol levels that cause obesity and overweight. The mixture reduces appetite and creates a stable feeling of fullness. When consumed regularly, the honey and cinnamon blend helps to lose 1-3 kg by speeding up metabolism and ridding the body of toxins. The mixture starts to show results within three to four days and can be used regularly or until the weight is maintained.

Preparation: mix 1 tablespoon of organic cinnamon with hot water. Allow to cool under a lid until the water becomes lukewarm. After 20-30 minutes, add 1 teaspoon of honey. Stir until the whole mixture becomes smooth and drink half a glass. It is recommended to drink half a glass in the morning and half a glass in the evening on an empty stomach.
